Product Curriculum : Useful Resources for Learning About Product (Design, Code & Biz/People)

I started the list along with Kareem (Kareem Amin), as we often have people ask us what the best way to learn the essential skills needed for product roles. Rather than just send them lists of links via email, we wanted to centralize the list of resources we’ve collected over the years and open it up to the community to add to it, and provide a better framework for how to approach learning about product.
The Need for a Product Curriculum
Being successful in product roles requires a blend of design, coding & business skills. Most traditional colleges don’t have product focused degrees, you could go to business school, or go to design school, but you likely still won’t get the full breadth of skills needed to excel in product. There’s schools out there that are starting to offer product focused curriculums like General Assembly & Product School, but those require a financial investment to get started, and don’t necessarily provide an easy way to get a sense for what a product education entails. Realizing there’s not a great publicly available roadmap for how to learn about product, we decided to take a first pass on what we consider to be good starting points& then open it up for more people to contribute.
